Yea those two are a bit tough to find together on a phone. I mean you have fairphones which are very repairable, but it’s only splash resistant, not submerge resistant.

But I found this phone called Nokia XR21 which is $499 and is has IP rating of IP68/IP69K and it’s build as a rugged phone which is very resistant to drops. 6.49 inch display and has a 3.5mm headphone jack! No removable battery tho. It has 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of monthly security updates. Personally this phone looks great to me, but this is a midrange and they don’t make flagships so I went with a Samsung Galaxy S23.

Never used a foldable phone. Looks cool, but too bad its not dust resistant and the curved display is very weak against scratches. A hinge in a phone just further shorten it’s lifespan. I wouldn’t use them until it’s not only water-resistant, but also dust proof, and the hinge better outlast the lifespan of the rest of the phone. Considering the high price and also comes with so much drawbacks, they aren’t for the average person. It’s a rich person’s toy.

Honestly, our attention span is so fucked, most of us only read headlines.

We had Obamacare (Affordable Care Act), then the fucking fascists partially dismantled it. Obamacare barely passed the filibuster, I doubt anything like that could ever pass again in this political climate. And even Obamacare didn’t solve everything, it’s not Universal Healthcare / Medicare for All. Until healthcare issues are fixed, “ban cars” is not a policy I’d support.

We not only have a climate threat, we also have a fascist threat. We can’t fix climate without getting rid of the support for fascism.

The people at !fuck_cars@lemmy.ml need to advocate for these people to be banned before advocating for banning cars.

Just don’t have anything that can potentially be “incriminating”, from the perspective of a border agent. Never hurts to be overcautious, but being too careless can get you deported. Wipe all devices, and have a few photos and populate your browser history with random non-political content so your devices look “normal”. Do not have anything that “criminals” use. Do not have a VPN app that’s visible, do not have Tor, do not have any encryption apps. You can download these things once you get in the country. Just act “normal” and you’ll be fine crossing customs.
