  • The crypto and buy GME spam from the groupthink “investment” subs was one of my biggest annoyances on Reddit. I used to love some of the investment subs, they got utterly ruined by the GME spam. Every other post is about trying to pump and dump some short squeeze stock.

The saddest part is so many of them don’t even realize it’s just a bunch of pump and dumps and hold the bag on stocks forever. There’s still so many of them screaming about how GameStop or AMC is a good investment. Failing outdated business models, good investments because people short the stock. Sound logic.

  • The water in a Popsicle isn’t pure water. There’s other shit in water. Hate to break it to you but there’s also other shit in the water in your tap or that they use to make food. It’s not all the most chemically pure water on the planet. Sugar in a high enough concentration is a preservative, doubt they’ve reached that in a Popsicle. If you make like concentrated simple syrup which is 2:1 it sort of is, but I think that’s only shelf stable for a few months. That’s basically liquid sugar at that point though and way more than is in a Popsicle. In lower amounts sugar basically acts as food for bacteria.

  • Superautomatic machines make inferior espresso shots objectively. For various mechanical reasons they will never make espresso as well as non-automatic machine.

That being said, I own one at my house. It’s very convenient and it’s passable espresso (when using decent beans, Starbucks burns their espresso beans and that’s the main reason it sucks). However, if I’m paying $5+ for a couple shots of espresso in whatever form I’m expecting it to be made right. Not worse than my mid range home machine makes with a couple button taps.
