I went from the sole IT person at a small/medium business for 9+ years to a new role at a big company with divisions and shit. In my previous position, depending on the day, I fell in every category, but usually chaotic good on good days. Now I’m pretty much neutral to lawful good. I’ll dabble in the neutral evil as I see fit, because PEBCAK and ID10t issues have no bounds.
I would say some unfiltered shit at any moron that handed me something like this. It would probably be exactly what they want, but I would belittle them with every fiber of my being in the hopes that something sticks and they feel bad. It would make me feel a little better, but I am also a big man child sometimes.

As someone that has gone through some of the available online tutorials like freecodecamp, and has no real world experience, especially in a team setting, I think I agree with you. I wouldn’t say it’s hard, but I do feel it’s unnecessarily complicated in some areas. Some naming conventions are unintuitive, the cascading inheritance can get confusing especially with multiple hands working on something, and from my experiences, there’s minimal if any effort put into best practices, so everyone does things a little different.
I have two weeks left as a sysadmin and I’m transitioning to development. My experiences in sysadmin are a big reason I got in the door with little coding experience. A lot of devs don’t have an in depth knowledge about computers outside of programming, and knowing that extra stuff can certainly raise the ceiling.
I think that being a cop offsets her volunteer work. Until the entire profession is reformed, then ACAB, including your SIL. I’m sure she’s a fine person, but as long as she’s a member of the police gang, she’s one of them.

I use private internet access (pia). It’s reasonably priced, really good for the number of devices, and I don’t believe they keep logs. At least it used to be that way, but I haven’t checked that since I signed up a decade ago. I have had zero issues with anything or anyone while using it for any reason. Uptime is basically 100%. Also has mobile support if that matters.
I will have to look into that as an option. Always open to alternatives.
One of the reasons that I use Google photos is for the automatic backup of pictures I take. I’m working towards self hosting, and I haven’t got to this one yet, but that service is pretty nice. Also, when I’m traveling, I’ll take a handful pictures side by side, and Google will stitch a panorama for me. I spend time snowboarding in the mountains and hiking in tropical areas, and that’s the best way to capture a landscape that I’ve used.
I probably wouldn’t have cancelled Netflix if it weren’t for their password policy change. That’s Netflix’s fault, but the content wasn’t great, so it made it easier to pull the plug.
I’m in Iowa. Last Saturday and Sunday, highs were below zero wind chills -30 or lower, got 2’ of snow, 50mph winds, and there’s a chance of rain next week.
It started as a variable, then ended as a constant.

The max size of required pants stretch will be the standard size for the right picture, since each leg already wraps half of the tree. That confirms viability at least, so now I think it’s down to comfort, and does the stretch retract in a restful position, or does stay all loose and cumbersome?
