I live not too far from an army base whose helicopters regularly fly low over my neighborhood, rattling the windows and pictures on the wall, sometimes as late as 11:30 at night, and I think about this every time they pass.

The military is a boondoggle. It’s little more than a scam on a massive scale to funnel money out of taxpayers into the pockets of industrial contractors.

He’s certainly a better example than most, but there’s nothing stopping him from using his insane wealth to literally BUY reform, or even giving it all away now and living comfortably on the interest alone. Money like that could purchase half of Congress.

God, it would be hilarious if Trump was forced to pay Fulton County a big lump sum and destroy all of his remaining merch. I doubt the county has the resources to wage that kind of legal battle, but one can hope.

But there might be a fringe use case where they can block other parties from profiting off of it themselves. There are laws in some states prohibiting criminals from collecting proceeds from their own memoirs and other works, though that probably only applies to convicted felons, and Trump isn’t there quite yet. But there might be precedent if someone really wanted to take this to court.

The only issue with emailing the files is you can’t use custom covers with them. If that’s not a concern, it’s definitely the easier route.

Late to the thread, but it’s worth saying how convenient it can be to find a book online and just email it to the kindle, no cables or arcane software wrangling needed.

If you don’t mind having a generic cover and occasional janky formatting, it feels like a bit of wizardry every time I track down something I want to read and it’s there on my e-reader in a matter of minutes.

This also applies to checking out titles from the library, assuming they’re not wait-listed. Even after years of reading this way, it still tickles me whenever I can just pick a book and be reading it without getting out of my chair.

This is in the same realm as women’s clothes without pants. The people who keeping buying this shit deserve it.
