'Murican Android user here. I’ve never gotten any shit pertaining to iMessage compatibility or this chat bubble color thing. I think what we’re hearing about is just a few toxic circles being presented as the norm for everyone here.

What is the complete correct response for users to carry out if they spot CP?
Is just the report button on the post good enough? Is there some kind of higher level report for bigger-than-just-one-instance shit that threatens Lemmy as a whole? Should we call the FBI or some shit?
I haven’t come across any here, but if I do, I’d like to be able to aid in swift action against not only the post/account in question, but against the actual person running it.
Roms and emulators!
Nintendo’s entire library from their first game THROUGH all of the N64 games are a grand total of like 60gb iirc, which will all easily fit on a modern phone.
Touch screen isn’t great for a lot of them, but it’s also surprisingly not horrible, so for mobile gaming it’s not bad, even for the more input intensive ones like the Zelda 64 games.
We’ve got quite a few artsy types here - if we provide some parameters, I’m sure we could get some custom Lemmy emojis whipped up like overnight.
That’s the scary part about Twitter.
Most companies turn the burn up slowly. Musk took one look at the frogs, then turned the stove up to max, hired a technician to hold a welding torch up to the base of the pot, hired a chemist find an additive for the water to increase its boiling point and heat retention, pissed in the pot, and is actively pouring gasoline all over the kitchen with one hand while flipping the frogs off with the other.
And the frogs are just taking it.
What message does that send to YouTube?
I was worried we’d be seeing waves of this kind of anti-user aggression from large websites. My hypothesis is that twitter is running an active experiment to see just how user-unfriendly you can make something with an established userbase / what level of profitability corresponds with what level of fuckiness.
YouTube n’ friends have been watching from the sidelines and picking their own jaw up off the floor after seeing just how much the average user will bend over and take.
…which all makes me absolutely LOVE to see communities like this. Yo ho, motherfuckers!
I’ve been here a few months, but still learned quite a bit from this post - thanks for putting this together!
And welcome aboard to all the newest newbies! …did Reddit slap its users in the face again?
Upvote for the honesty, rofl.
Added and thank you!

…so it would be stupid if this works, but it’s a stupid problem in the first place, so try changing the time on your computer to be within their operational hours.
I recall cheesing videogames with that back in the day, and the UI of a halfway decent videogame would put most govt web design to shame. Worth a shot?
What’s funny is thinking that’s a red flag is itself a red flag.
If I was dating someone who revealed they’re focused on petty shit like that, I’d be worried about a relationship full of drama.
