I haven’t seen a lot of details about this program. What I’m most interested in is which forms it will support. One of my frustrations is that a lot of tax prep services advertise “free” efile, but almost all of them only allow it for the 1040EZ which is very narrow, and most adults will have to file at least a 1040 and probably will need additional forms as well.
There have been some questions about the quality of the source posted in this topic - Mediabiasfactcheck.com has them at a “Poor” factual reporting level. There are, however, a few more reliable sources reporting on this, such as this article in the New Republic
Ha, thank you. I didn’t realize we’d been around two years already…
FWIW, the native lemmy UI also calls it the account’s cake day, so it seems like that carried over.
Hey @Scary_le_Poo, I know we don’t have this in the rules anywhere on the site - there’s some ongoing discussion among the mods about how to handle things like this, but I’d like to encourage you to use something like an archive link if you’re going to post an alternative way to access an article, rather than copying the full text of an article into a comment.
Looks like the show had a 52 metacritic score and lost about half its viewers over the course of the first season. I don’t think you need to look much further than that to wonder why the second season was canceled.
I got to play Apiary last week and really enjoyed it, although we got a rule wrong having that I think probably would have had a pretty significant effect on the flow of the game.
I also played a game of Tyrants of the Underdark last night that was really interesting. Because of the decks we used there were almost no cards that generated influence, which led to spies and assassination (plus discard) being the main way we were interacting with each other. It was neat how drastically the marketplace deck affected how the game went.
Hi @lolcatnip, we have one rule on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. If you disagree with another user feel free to express why, but low effort, drive-by insults aren’t really in the spirit of this instance.
Thanks, that was a real whoosh moment for me, lol. 😅
Can I ask what you’re trying to get at by posting this?
Hmm. On the beehaw side there is a link to the main propublica site, but the title is also a link directly to the article. It’s probably the usual lemmy/kbin oddness.
This is literally the article that is linked in this post. I’m not sure what you’re getting at, or if this is another one of those odd UI issues between lemmy and kbin…
As far as I can tell this is the only time this has been posted on this community or even on this instance (beehaw.org). The nature of Lemmy is that if you’re subscribed to similar communities on multiple instances you’re likely going to see duplicate posts sometimes.
Much appreciated.
Is there not a better source for this than TikTok? Preferably social media should be the source of last resort for posts here.
Thanks for the reports everyone. Not sure what that was about.
Just a reminder to everyone in the comments to be kind. Folks feel very strongly about this subject, and for very good reasons, but we can have empathy and compassion for one another even while disagreeing. Please remember that you are interacting with other humans here.
Yeah absolutely. Please don’t take from my earlier comment that I agree that this group should have been ticketed.
I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but Houston’s approach to homelessness is considered by some to be one of the most successful in the nation, and one of the components as I understand is to coordinate care for the homeless through a central agency, which then refers individuals to other programs and agencies. The idea is that it reduces duplication of effort. I’m not sure if this ordinance is related, though.
Ah, thanks for that. I’ve not been in a position to consider filing the EZ in years so I didn’t realized it had been phased out.
