I can hardly remember the last time any notification was not some kind of spam or self-notification.
I turn 99.95% of notifications off on any platform. The worst offenders are the apps that will show me a permanent in-app notification that I have turned off notification permissions… especially those that do so blocking the regular UI of the app to tell me this. Even some apps I’ve paid for do this. I condemn those to the deepest pits of app-hell.

Each country have their own definitions, usually between 8-14g somewhere, and then each country use that to create their own health rules of how many standard units of alcohol can be part of a healthy nutrition guidelines / low-risk consumption guidelines.
It’s really cool, but the example doesn’t produce any sensible output? If you have created something like this, why wouldn’t you have your demo output something sensible like Fibonacci or 1337 or whatever.
You have also implemented a ban on any contribution from a VPN without announcing it. It has been very annoying to figure out.
Please do announce these kind of changes and limitations you implement publicly unless you absolutely cannot.

This is why I use a random email for every service that I can simply turn off on my end if they don’t behave.
They hit my threshold of shittiness some years back and I’ve been enjoying Jellyfin ever since. It’s a much better alternative for most!
For importing movies: two ways, depending on the state of your existing media.
Because no one creates one that will work on many media types.
The source information and structure of the media types can be quite different, you can’t just add books to sonarr for example. It’s often better with niche tools that to one thing well than some huge bloated software that does everything poorly.

lol that’s funny, didn’t know that was the cause for the latest LastPass breach. I just noped tf out of LastPass after that without looking back.
No I was just referring to their breach in August 2022 where I guess I was annoyed that they didn’t just invalidate/reset everyone’s password immediately. Instead, everyone had to try do to it on their servers, which couldn’t handle the traffic, so then a lot were either unable to reset password, unable to set new one, unable to reclaim server etc.
Also, when trying to calm us with mentioning everything they didn’t think was affected by the breach, it just made me realize that I’m done letting a company like Plex have all that data available to me.
Finally, they have to my knowledge still not acknowledged how the breach took place, just that they have taken steps to avoid it in the future.
From my experience, their communication about the last security breach was slow, lackluster and left me wanting. End result was that I did no longer trust them. In reality I may have been biased and already subconsciously made up my mind about their trustworthiness. Everyone have to make their own opinion and decisions.

Why I am not using Plex:
Their last hack was the straw for me. I have a lifetime Plex Pass. I still refuse to use Plex anymore.
For your consolation, many “answers” there are poor and just copy pasted from some open website anyway.
You have to realize that their business model is marking questions as answered so that they can paywall access and lure people in. This might affect their quality control…

I did pay for all seasons, but we could only get it legally through a horrible HBO Nordic app with insanely poor quality, so yeah I did also put in some effort in watching the series in a little more decent quality, but it’s just weird how low quality all streaming options were.
While I so enjoy the effort, no Piped videos are playable for me on iOS Safari, so it’s not much helpful.
Do you get specific letters about files you have downloaded, or generic letters about you using torrent?
If the first, something is wrong with your setup. Mullvad should be fine.
If the latter, it might be only your DNS setup is leaking and your isp sees the domains you are connecting to.
All my devices and networks are constantly on VPN, it’s just basic obscurity, and it’s such a hassle posting on Lemmy now - my activity is probably down 90%.
Could you please consider allowing basic text posts and / or comments from behind a VPN? You could even disallow all markdown - that’s a decent trade off for my sake.
But please don’t just block all VPN usage if there are options you have not explored yet.
