Oh nice. Does your system FINALLY provide enough addreses for every Planck volume in the observable universe? It’s been frickin amateur hour, this internet thing.

Nope, I’m not sure I even looked for one yet. I don’t need auto sync and/or backup for my work since that’s mostly in GitHub and JIRA and the like. But it’s still convenient to be able to throw a file in there at times.
Insert “use Linux” joke. But I’m absolutely serious when I say that using my company’s M365 stuff using the web versions in Firefox on Linux is pretty pleasant.

Please add me to that newsletter, and may the billboards be cast from your sight, brother!
I have always considered myself an engineer because I’m part of a multidisciplinary engineering organization designing a physical product that has embedded software. And “engineer” is the word at the end of my degrees, I guess.
But if somebody called me by any of those terms in the OP I would answer. And if somebody who works on an app or a video game calls themselves an engineer, it wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.
My only conclusion is that we here, who spend our days specifying exactly what we want computers to do, are not so great specifying ourselves exactly.
Why doesn’t this damn thing have a simple off switch like everything else?
Greybeard/greypube: “Ahhctually it is fast and simple and it’s not funny that noobs can’t rtfm. How hard is it to remember squeeze, twist, remove?”
Or get a decent TV?
My LG oled has options to disable ads, and I never see ads when using the apps or the menu that launches them.
I still have a PC connected to the TV, but many of the TV’s apps do a good job.
Yeah I didn’t think I needed it. It was a last second addition just in case.
Yeah, but good service is a profit problem!

Even your local police on the front lines have no legal obligation to protect and serve individuals. Instead they use their individual judgment and discretion. Good luck with the government itself!
At least the alcoholic grindset yuppies are well represented by the BMW 4 series and Audi A4 in the top 5.
Absolutely zero surprise of Ram trucks being #1. The only vehicle that has ever crashed into me was a Ram. All the tires were mismatched and the driver came to his deposition with alcohol on his breath. They’re a fun bunch, those Ram drivers.
Mobile games for kids are the worst. Those and any self-help mental health apps.
It’s $10 a month to access the features of a basic game that runs on the local device, or the subscription renews weekly, or you can get a 7-day free trial after which it charges you for the entire year. And in the latter case, you usually have to sign up for the free trial before you are allowed to see ANY content.
A cheap subscription makes sense for some things, especially those using cloud based resources. But so much of that business model seems to rely on making money by screwing people that forgot they were paying you.
I still like having a console strictly for games, but not for media stuff. Plus since it’s an Xbox, you can subscribe to Game Pass and treat every game as a rental.
That doesn’t do anything to help game preservation though, which sucks. But between the sheer volume of games and the “every game is a rental” attitude, I treat new games as a one-time experience that I probably won’t care about returning to.
Fortunately though, the games I care most about having access to forever are easily backed up and can be played with an emulator if necessary.
Brazil’s government heavily pushes for things to be made there. A place I worked several years ago had an office there for some final assembly or something for products sold there.
This is why bad parking is the worst. Any individual incident of shitty driving could be some momentary distraction or lapse of judgement. Things happen that people can’t take back.
But with parking, it’s always fixable. That way you KNOW they are a cunt, whether they did it on purpose, or noticed and didn’t fix it, or most likely never gave enough of a shit to even try in the first place.

Lol! I figured a plain white wall was as featureless as you could get for something to stare at while you mentally conjure code.
And since I’m in the office today (voluntarily!) there is literally a white wall to stare at above my monitors! But there is also a window slightly to the side, so my “staring blankly while totally thinking of something that will help the company” game is strong.
Dark mode is definitely the way to go though. I have three monitors and one phone in front of me, and 3/4 currently show a dark background in the application on them.
Uh oh. So you think legal might be on to us, like, existing?
I know I’m safe though because every line of code I have ever written came to me in a vision as I stared at a flat white wall.
Some people seem to define themselves by the things they don’t like. That kind of negativity is worth working on to push out of your life, for your own happiness.
