Spamming user+1@gmail, user+2@gmail takes absolutely no technical knowledge whatsoever - anyone can do it with 1 gmail account.

Spamming user1@domain, user2@domain etc requires 1 of two things:

1. you can sign up for multiple email accounts using a third party service. You’re going to run into trouble with Gmail or other big providers if you start creating accounts en masse.

2. you create your own email server. this requires someone with selfhosting knowledge and some basic coding (or rather server config) experience.

that’s to stop people from spamming signatures with user+1@gmail, user+2@gmail, user+3@gmail, etc.

if that happens occasionally, it’s fine. I’ve seen apps which update every other week and do this bullshit.

That’s still (slightly) better than apps which force close when they’re not updated, and don’t allow you to do anything at all.

There are things i like about ios and things I like about android. And to be fair, both companies have somewhat converged slightly over the years (and learnt from jailbreakers/rooters).

The main thing I still like about ios is that swipe up for control center works better, especially when screen sizes are now all >5".

Things I still like about android:

• you can sideload apps without resorting to exploits
• you can transfer files directly onto your phone without using itunes or some weird hack

Ultimately I usually end up on android because the sideload/file transfer thing becomes a deal breaker, but I like that ios provides Google and other phone manufacturers with a reason to continue innovating.

It sucks that Samsung is the only good phone manufacturer with a well-rounded flagship that can (mostly) be used with one hand.

You just have to pick your poison. Windows is easy to use. I don’t want a walled garden ios machine, nor do I want to spend 2 hours on a forum trying to troubleshoot every little thing on Linux.

On the other hand, I’ve found Samsung phones in the past 5-8 years to fit my needs in a way that other phones (including pixels and iphones) don’t.
