The best pro-tip i have from my college days, is to always check wikipedia :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sci-Hub
LETSGO
Yeah my instance is small but my uptime is pretty good (except this db issue tbh) so that might be why
Hmmmm interesting, i hope im not on the ban list! I haven’t noticed any weird traffic like that
Yeah no problem, checked the issue – looks like there’s some movement on it so we’ll see
Hey just FYI, I’ve been experiencing a postgres memory leak issue on my instance since the upgrade to 0.19.2. Theres a GitHub issue open about it (#4406), not sure if it’s something that will affect you but probably worth keeping in mind
I’ve upgraded to 0.19.2 last night, fingers crossed it fixed the issues
Granted my instance has like a molecule’s amount of users relative to .world
You’re right, but imo when you know the risks of what you’re doing its pretty vile to rip a child from their parents especially in this case where the parents clearly worked very hard to get clean and get their shit together for the kid.
To be fair, it is implied that foster care is temporary, no? Like you have to know what you’re getting yourself into
I don’t anymore, now that I use Spotify. But when I did, it was YouTube recommendations to find new music and then torrent the whole discography to find the ones I liked
I hope it wasn’t any other communities other than lemmyshitpost, but I’m probably going to venture on better safe than sorry for this one.
This is so fucked, but this brings up a question – is this something to be concerned about for instances federated with lemmy.world? As in, if something like this is uploaded to a community that the instance federates with, their instance will now have a copy as well?
IIRC in Georgia the jurors names have to be made public

You know, it hurt at first but i think im happier that they went down while at the top of the game. Especially when you look at whats become of TPB and now 1337x apparently
Use checksums and see? How much space are we talking here?
Agreed but as time goes on and the community grows these things will come! The piracy community in general i think is pretty quick to switch platforms because we’re so used to main hubs going down overnight (i.e. rarbg, kat, etc) and having to find the new spot.
Embarassing, here’s to hoping that lemmy takes off
I’d say the requirements are accurate, it needs cpu to do the simulation stuff but I’m still a noob.
Regardless, i think i could go 12hrs before crossing that threshold (if it does exist)
