The paid app is the unlocker. It does not do anything by itself. You can check the features on the website or see the play store description.

I only know of hermit and native alpha. 1st time hearing about this. Compared to hermit appears to be only 2 years old vs 10 years for hermit.
There are lots of mention of Native Alpha and hermit in the description. Very strange I never found this option in the 2 years it existed on the play store. Being based on firefox sounds neat. Good for everyone who wants their user agent to be firefox everyone even in lite apps.
Would give it a shot and see what it holds. But, I don’t see myself switching from hermit.
Not to my knowledge. But, you can use one of the vivid color profiles to partially replicate it. The boosted colours should help with outdoor visibility.
Yeah, project mainline to reduce the impact of full system upgrades.
You can read about it here: https://www.esper.io/blog/what-is-project-mainline
The newer Sony phones have improved software support of 3 OS & 4 years of security updates.
They are automatic.
Niagara launcher, kiss or kvaesto are the way to go. If you want a decent app search. I would also recommend Smart Launcher 6; the search bar is pretty good. Not to mention the automatic app categories you get for all your apps.
In colorOS smartphones. The default launcher shows ads when you use their search function. Fortunately, this special search can be disabled.
Yeah, this would be the main. There was a time when VLC had blacklisted huawei phones from installing their app on the Playstore when they had enough with the negative reviews.

No, the whole point of Gemini is Google integration. Use chatgpt or Bing AI if you want something similar not tied to Google.
No
Edit: I replied after a week because I received a notification about your reply now. I’m guessing some federation issue for delayed notifications and comments/replies.
If you have the play store installed. Don’t bother. Ignore it. GMS are a critical part of android. If something breaks you may experience higher crash rates. They are updated automatically. So, manually updating is not required.
There’s an app called Package Installer available on izzydroid fdroid repo. I haven’t found an uninstallable app on android 14 yet. But, someone had recommended it to bypass the restriction. It needs shizuku or root to perform installation.
Consider getting the OnePlus 12R it should fit the bill and be an upgrade in most ways possible compared to S10.
He mentioned wanting a high quality panel with a high refresh rate which also supports LTPO. Fairphone mazes at 90hz and doesn’t support LTPO.

Considering the A55 reaches the price of the s22 and s23 fe. Why would you not get that instead? Or even the A54. Unless, expandable storage is a big deal.
You could try the OnePlus 12R. The marketing claims 80% peak capacity after 4 years. But, I would instead buy a smart plug which only turns on for two hours every 12 or 24 hours. That way you only do one possible charge every day. Plus, use any limit battery charge function present on the phone(samsung, OnePlus, realme, vivo, etc)
Smart launcher has the option for google feed. Check here: https://www.smartlauncher.net/bridge
