I’m gonna say this all the time now
it’s ugly and sticks out too much when it’s square. round is classy
I’ve been doing this exact thing!! and it’s refreshing to see this attitude on Lemmy, which generally seems to really really hate giving the creators of the content they consume any money. People here act like they’re entitled to free content and piracy is some moral obligation. Piracy is and should be just a little bit shameful. it’s not like it’s evil or whatever but you’re not supposed to be proud of doing it. I pay for the content i spend the most time with whenever I’m financially comfortable enough to do it.
almost all advice i see given in lemmy has at least a minor insult and i gotta say I’m here for it
which distro did you end up on? I started 2 weeks ago with Arch (bad first choice, but i learned a lot), moved to Ubuntu (seemed way too bloated and hard to customize), then PopOS (worse than Ubuntu), and now I’m moving from Manjaro back to Arch. I think that’s where I’m gonna stay now that i know how to fix it up and use it.
The only thing i miss from Windows is Adobe, everything else is so much better on Linux. I love how i can customize literally anything and everything, and if i need something specific i can just make it
i hate MS, Google, Amazon, Apple … FOSS or bust fuck these robber barron birches
They’re not “smart enough to be tricked” lolololol. They’re too complicated to have precise guidelines. If something as simple and stupid as this can’t be prevented by the world’s leading experts idk. Maybe this whole idea was thrown together too quickly and it should be rebuilt from the ground up. we shouldn’t be trusting computer programs that handle sensitive stuff if experts are still only kinda guessing how it works.
