Can iOS install FF? Legit question, Ive never owned an iPhone.
Take a look at “Seeker”. Its a client for the SoulSeeker network. Nicotine+ for desktop is nice too.
Pihole or similar DNS blocking. I can’t recommend it enough. My smart TVs are the #1 offender on my network. The only thing that will try to pull in more ads are my wife’s mobile games.
Thanks. Maybe it’ll also filter out the rant posts too.
In Boost, from main screen: Settings, filter words. I didn’t leave instructions as I’m sure each client has their own way of doing it.
Yes but I use more than web traffic stuff on my phone.
Eh, the problem is, most of these big vpn providers end points are well known by most isp’s.
Well, not really with these, per se. My own VPN, Wireguard, routes back through my pihole service to double down on it’s filtering. For the most, I’m not trying to obfuscate my ip. If I wanted to do that I’d use tor or something. I just don’t want my traffic to be easily snooped on when I’m connected to wifi that isn’t mine.
Mental Outlaw has a video about post YouTube Vanced. Basically: Kiwi browser + sponsor block + ublock + a violent monkey script to allow audio playback when your screen is off.
And honestly, it’s been working great for over a year. I’d rate the overall experience as good if not actually better than Vanced tbh.
Hol’ up
Worked at office Depot when this first rolled out, around 2013 or so. It was a hard sell then too. Was another reason I pushed lasers to people.
Yep. The xerox one I got has done pretty well too. No drivers to download, for any device or OS in my home network. Shit just works.
This is exactly how I’ve been doing it. Pihole + Wireguard. Set your pihole device as your DNS on everything ya want. It’s shocking how much crap tries phoning home. Especially smart TV’s and streaming sticks(Roku ex).
I’m so glad I finally baught premium on nexus tbh. But my account was grandfathered in when they went to me monthly sub.
But it would be nice for free accounts to at least download in parallel even at the cap speed at least. It was years before I upgraded my account,so I know the pain.
This was going to be my suggestion as well. Not sure if it will grab subtitles though.
Pihole works wonders for mobile apps in general. Especially games. Ublock and pihole are similar but different enough to use both. Yes, ublock is overall better for browsers. But for network wide coverage, including smart TV’S, mobile apps, iot stuff like ring cameras etc.
For sure, dude could have just been more blunt right away about not wanting to share that info (still strange, or maybe just embarrased?). I’ve never used a dating app, so IDK.
I don’t have an answer for that. I’m not saying he handled it right, just trying to come up with some sort of mindset he may have had to respond like this at all.
I’d imagine that’s part of it. But it’s also a big metal building, farady cage and all.
