Hisense A9
Cool, this looks just like my Boox Palma except it’s got a SIM.

I haven’t seen anything about it being rooted or rom support yet, but that’s not really my scene anymore. I believe Hisense makes a similar e-ink device that is rootable if that’s a hard requirement for you, although I think I’ve read it’s only released in China so it may be hard to find.
EDIT: From another comment in this thread it looks like the Hisense A9 is what you want if you’re after a rootable e-ink device (and with a SIM so you can use it as an actual phone too)
Yep, it has full play store support so you can install whatever you want.
Onyx Boox Palma. It’s not a phone so maybe it doesn’t exactly count, but other than the lack of a SIM its basically just a phone with a really good e-ink display. I’ve been really happy with it, it’s my favorite Android device since the OnePlus 7 Pro.
They are supposed to be working on a complete rewrite of the Linux client that’s coming out soon.
I think this is for the best, there are some seriously disturbed people posting on Lemmygrad. I saw comments cheering on and celebrating the Hamas attack and talking about how they hoped the people who were kidnapped get tortured. Whatever your politics, that is super fucked up and not “legitimate discourse”.
It’s inherently unpleasant for everyone involved, except the oblivious. The restroom is just not an appropriate location for a phone call, you should be avoiding conversation and focusing on the task at hand.
How do you know they are doing this because people are abusing charge backs? It doesn’t really make sense to me in the context of auto payment on a phone bill where there’s a contract and pattern of regular payments.

My only concern is being even more locked into Google. I already feel like I have too many eggs in their basket and they are basically impossible to deal with if something goes wrong. I don’t want to end up locked out of everything with no data and there’s no customer support person I can call up to maybe sort things out with because Google is too cheap to pay for actual customer support staff.
This is exactly why I am pissed about this. T-Mobile has been hacked over and over again, they can not be trusted with my bank info. In the time I’ve been a customer my data has been stolen at least 3 times. Giving them your actual bank info instead of a credit card is a terrible idea, they are not competent enough to keep it secure.
Not OP, but it’s still lack of hardware support for me. I tried to daily Linux on my laptop and gave up in frustration after several months because a few key pieces of hardware are not supported and seemingly never will be.
